Marriage is a beautiful union of two souls who hopefully don’t want to murder each other ten years down the line. I don’t know the secret to a lasting marriage, but I do know that when my husband and I are laughing with or at each other we are much less likely to be plotting the other’s death. My grandmother told me that communication is key, and that “If at first, you don’t succeed, just quit” – right before she took a fat drag off a cig and flicked it into the woods at my wedding reception. Since he works crazy hours as a cameraman to support our family while I finish school, much of our communication is done via text message. Thankfully, we each find ourselves hilarious.
